about

<|8^|, better known by his stage name Shitwiz, is an English musician, DJ and philanthropist from London. He was named "the Greatest DJ of All Time" by Mixmag magazine in a poll voted by the fans. In 2017, he was voted by DJ Magazine readers as the "best DJ of the last 20 years". He is also regarded as the "Godfather of lolicore" by many sources.

From an early age, Shitwiz began to cultivate a passion for music. At age 9, he intensified his commitment to the art, and began DJing professionally at school parties and industrial goth warehouse raves. He gained a reputation among his peers as an eccentric and ground breaking musician, combining heavily compressed drum breaks and Japanese middle schooler vocals into a cacophony of abrasive madness. At age 11, legendary IDM producer Aphex Twin discovered Shitwiz when the latter DJed at his nan's 70th birthday party, promptly signing him to his Rephlex label.

During the mid 80s to late 90s, Shitwiz began collaborating with Aphex Twin, producing some of the finest musical wank the world has ever heard. In 1992, Shitwiz and Aphex Twin released their critically acclaimed Selected Ambient Works, bringing the young prodigies international recognition among sophisticated music listeners and pillhead teenagers alike. However, in 1994, after releasing the Grammy award winning Selected Ambient Works Volume II, the dynamic duo seperated. Aphex Twin stated that Shiwiz's poor personal hygene and affinity for low budget japanese animation were two of the many issues his young compatriot had.

After the Aphex Twin breakup, Shitwiz went on a long term hiatus, rarely leaving his single bedroom apartment. Occasionaly, he would ghost write music for The Prodigy, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Source Direct, Dom & Roland, The Spice Girls, Vengaboys, Hijokaidan and Oasis using samplers, drum machines and analog synthesizers stolen from Aphex Twin's 50 million dollar countryside mansion.

Shitwiz returned from his longterm hiatus in 2002, forming Pendulum with Rob Swire and his mom. In 2005, they released their first studio album, Hold Your Colour, cementing Shitwiz as one of drum and bass' leading producers. After two additional albums, the group broke up due to creative differences. Rob Swire opened up about the sudden breakup in a 2013 interview, stating Shitwiz "only wanted to use denpa song and jamaican dancehall samples" and "kept using my onaholes without my permission". Shitwiz responded by calling Swire a "wanker" in a 2014 MixMag interview.

From 2010 onwards, Shitwiz moved to Japan and began ghost writing songs for jpop icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, earning him many Japanese Yens for anime blu-rays, beer and dakimakura covers. After releasing Pika Pika Fantajin in 2014, he returned to London to work on his magnum opus, his first solo album. <|8^| spent 3 years in nearly complete isolation working on his album, with only a pair of catgirl maids tending to his needs. His diet during this time consisted almost entirely of jamaican beef patties, instant coffee and cheap 5.5% beer. After over 1000 days of musical wankery and fermented piss jugs slowly filling his room, Shitwiz completed his legendary album.

Just after releasing his first solo studio album in 2017, Shitwiz was personally invited by Shinzo Abe to perform live at 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, becoming the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympics.
